We take the mystery out of buying a home

Choosing a home is one of the most important decisions. Finding the financing is another. The whole process can seem a little overwhelming. That's where Coldwell Banker can help. We take the mystery out of finding and financing a home-every step of the way.

Tips when looking to buy

Shop around for a good mortgage rate and lender

Get pre-approved for your maximum loan amount.

This way you will look at homes that fall into you budget.

This can also mean the difference of having your offer on a home accepted, because you are an approved buyer.

Stick to a budget

Pay-off as much debt as possible, but make sure you have saved up enough money to enable you to make the down payment on your home.

Work with a well informed real estate agent that you feel comfortable with.

Select a home that is consistent with the neighborhood.

Get prices of similar houses that have sold in the area from the town or city hall, or ask your agent to find this information for you.

You can make an offer contingent upon certain conditions (full loan approval, sale of your home,  fixing something on the subject property etc.)

Take your time in making your decision, make sure you are certain of your decisions before you sign anything.

Also remember to consult an attorney and accountant for your specific needs.
